• Research and Development Activities

The GSA has always conducted studies and research into challenges and problems confronting the activities of shippers. The GSA has a Research and Development department which continually gathers and organises maritime and trade information for use by its key departments in providing solutions to numerous shipment problems.

• Improved Road Transport Governance (IRTG)

The GSA in collaboration with the West Africa Trade Hub is conducting the Improved Road Transport Governance (IRTG) research project. The two agencies have joined efforts in sensitizing cargo truck drivers on acquiring necessary documents and maintaining their trucks in conditions as required by law.

The IRTG research project is designed to gather and analyse information on the cost of delays and unauthorized payments on the transit corridors of Ghana-Burkina Faso and Ghana-Niger.
